Egerton University Announces Date for Its 49th Graduation Ceremony

The date has been set for this year’s graduation at Egerton University.

According to a notice by the Njoro-based public university, the graduation, which will be the 49th, will be held in the last week of November 2025.

When will Egerton University hold its 49th graduation ceremony?

In a notice to all candidates who have qualified for the conferment of various degrees and award of diplomas during the 2024/2025 academic year, the institution the graduation ceremony will take place on Friday, November 28, 2025, starting at 9.00 a.m. at Njoro Campus.

All graduands and guests are expected to be seated by 8.30 a.m.,” read part of the notice.

To ensure a smooth graduation process and enhance the accuracy and speed of processing of certificates, the prospective graduands have been requested to observe several issues and strictly adhere to the specified deadlines.

The institution noted that it is the responsibility of each prospective graduand to confirm his/her examination results by contacting their respective Deans’ offices from Monday, 29th September 2025. The results are also available in the student portal.

All prospective graduands are also required to apply for graduation online through their student portal.

Apply for clearance by Finance from the student portal under ‘Clearance application’ by Friday, 24th October 2025. Postgraduate Graduands will be cleared for graduation by both the Board of Postgraduate Studies and the Finance Department,” the university notes in the notice.

Once cleared by Finance, a graduand can then apply for graduation under “Graduation application” with the deadline set for Monday, 3rd November 2025.

What fees will Egerton University graduands be required to pay?

In addition, graduands must pay all mandatory fees before applying for clearance by Finance. The fees must be paid through E-CITIZEN. (Log in to the student portal, click on E-payment and follow the instructions)

The prospective graduands have also been asked to ensure that their names are in the order in which they shall appear in the final certificate (without initials) and should be the same as in previous certificates, admission letter and supported by the National Identification card.

Any correction thereafter shall attract a fee,” the university noted.

During the ceremony, all graduands will be required to be in full academic attire.  Graduands are required to download and complete relevant forms and pick the graduation attire from their respective Faculties from Wednesday, 26th November 2025.

All hired gowns must be returned by Monday, 15th December 2025, after which a daily penalty of Kes. 500/= will be charged,” notes a notice for the graduation.

When will the rehearsal for Egerton University graduation be held?

All graduands who wish to participate in the ceremony and have paid all fees must attend the rehearsal on Thursday, 27th November 2025, at 9.00 a.m.  All graduands attending the rehearsal should be seated by 9.30 a.m. and be in complete academic attire.

Moreover, all prospective graduands are expected to download the invitation card from the student portal.

The prospective graduands are encouraged to visit graduation.egerton.ac.ke to access more information on the 49th graduation ceremony, including downloading the programme, graduation booklet, Newslink magazine and graduation etiquette.

The website will be activated during the graduation week from 24th November 2025. This website will feature graduation speakers, a section where parents, friends and guardians can share graduation messages and photos, live stream details and responses to frequently asked questions (FAQs),” the university said.
