Police officers in Eldoret town have launched investigations to ascertain the conditions under which an Eldoret-based Journalist died.
This is after the lifeless body of the journalist – Julius Tarus was found on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at his rented house in Rock Two, a few kilometres from Eldoret.
According to his brother Isaac Bowen, Tarus, a journalist formerly attached to the KASS MEDIA group had been at their rural home near Kabenes and left on Sunday back to Eldoret.

Fellow journalists say on Monday, he was in town and all through he did not complain of being unwell.
But on Tuesday, his family members could not reach him on phone and were forced to send a relative on Thursday to check on him.
His brother found him dead.
Police officers visited the scene to secure it and later took the body to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital where a postmortem is expected to be conducted.

Some of the journalists who arrived at the house say his body was found lying in a position that indicated he might have died as he struggled to climb onto his bed.
“It looks like he had stomach problems as he had vomited a lot,” said one of the journalists.
Kass Media Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Julius Lamaon when contacted over the incident said even though Tarus was not the company’s employee, they will support his family in burial preparations, even as investigations continue.
