Individuals with accounts at Equity Bank across the country will on Sunday night not be able to access both online and mobile banking services.
According to a notice shared on the bank’s verified social media pages, the two services will be unavailable due to a planned system maintenance.
The planned system maintenance is however expected to take a maximum of six hours, with customers expected to be able to access the services by early Monday.
“Dear Member, Please note that our online and mobile banking services will be unavailable from Sunday, 23rd April 2023 10pm, to 5am Monday 24th April 2023 for a planned system maintenance,” Equity Bank said in part of its notice.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” it added.
A similar message was also sent out to all the Equity Bank customers via Short Messaging Services (SMS).
“Dear Member, due to planned system maintenance our online&mobile Banking services will be unavailable on 23/4/23 10pm-5am 24/4/23. Apologies for the inconvenience,” read an SMS from the bank to one of its customers seen by Uasin Gishu News.
Online banking
Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) will however remain working normally during the period.
Founded in 1984, Equity Bank has a vibrant online banking system that allows its customers to make transactions digitally – through online banking or using its Mobile Application.

It also has a USSD code *247# that customers use to make transactions on their mobile phones.
