Eldoret Sports Development Club (Espodec) and Solasa Starlets emerged victorious in the weekend matches for the Uasin Gishu County Women Football League.
Espodec smashed Baraton 5-0 in a one-sided contest staged at Golden Gateway Stadium in Kisumu Ndogo, Langas.
Vienna Mayende scored a hat trick while Philis Wabwile got a brace to complete Espodec’s riot.
Maurice Kamau, the Espodec head coach said they are targeting to win the league this season.
“We expected more from our players but they did not play the best we know. We will seek to fix areas we are not yet to perfect as we eye the title,” Kamau said.

In another Uasin Gishu County Women Football League match, Solasa Starlets edged out Monaco 1-0.
Starlets won the match despite fielding 8 players. Libese Chelsea netted the only goal in the controversial game that Monaco had also fielded 10 players, before adding one later in the game.
“We had eight players only because some have not been around. We tried our best and luckily won,” said Solasa team captain, Sheryl Awour.
Solasa Starlets also beat Baraton University 2-0. Libese Chelsea and Sara were on the score sheet.
“The game has been good and fair although we lost. We hope to revenge when we host them,” said Naomi Alkamol, the Baraton captain.
In the men’s game, Black City Stars won 1-0 against Pioneer. Dylan Kariuki scored the only goal.
“We had a good game. We created many chances in the first half but failed to convert them into goals. We were frustrated in the second half but luckily we won the game,” said Kizito, the head coach of Black Stars who are hoping to move to the regional league.
Next weekend, the Black Stars will be away to Nandi Hills on Saturday.
