Gideon’s Starlets returned to the top of the FKF Women Division One Zone B League table after registering a big win over the weekend.
The Starlets beat Gene Queens 4-1 in a league match played at Opanga Primary School Grounds.
They however had to battle from a goal down against the Eldoret-based side.
The impressive win keeps the promotion hope alive for Gideon’s Starlets.
They are top with 40 points after 18 games played.
Winners for the Zone B League will get a direct promotion to the FKF Women Premier League while runners-up go for a playoff against an opponent that also finishes second in Zone League.
Elsewhere at Sang’alo Technical Training Institute, Madira Secondary School side Soccer Assassins slayed hosts Bungoma Queens 2-0 to rise to fourth position in the log.
Hosts who remain third with 36 points after 17 matches needed a win to make it to the top of the table but the guests were too hard to crack.
The win moved the Soccer Assassins to fourth with 34 points having played the same games as Bungoma Queens.
In another match, Gusii Starlets continued their winless run with a one-all-draw at Rongai while Kolwa Falcons tamed Kimathi Lionesses 2-0 in their away game.
