Kenya Police Bullets Start Strong, Vihiga Queens, Trinity Starlets and Kibera Soccer Women Pick Wins

Defending champions Kenya Police Bullets secured a 3-0 victory against KISPED in their opening FKF Women’s Premier League match played at Police Sacco Stadium.

Kenya Police Bullets began their title defence with a 3-0 victory over KISPED. Lydia Akoth opened the scoring in the 39th minute, followed by a second-half brace from Rebecca Okwaro, who found the net in the 51st and 61st minutes, securing all three points for the champions.

Meanwhile, at Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Vihiga Queens earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over a determined Ulinzi Starlets side. Both teams exchanged chances, but a single 89th-minute goal from Providence Mukalo was enough to claim victory.

In another match, Kibera Soccer Women recorded a 2-0 victory over Bungoma Queens at National Polytechnic, Bungoma. Nyakoa Amina put Kibera ahead with an early goal in the 10th minute, while Anna Arusi sealed the win with a last-minute strike in the 90th minute, ensuring Kibera left Bungoma with all three points.

At the RVIST Grounds in Nakuru, Trinity Starlets secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Bunyore Starlets. Chesang Jackline opened the scoring in just the 3rd minute, marking the fastest goal of the season, and added a second in the 48th minute. Isichi Euphrasia capped off the win with a third goal, sealing a dominant performance for the hosts.

These opening results set the tone for what promises to be a fiercely competitive WPL season, with teams battling not just for pride but for a shot at the title. Fans can expect more thrilling matchups and standout performances as the season unfolds.

Meanwhile, Zetech Sparks beat hosts Kisumu Allstarlets FC 1-0 in an entertaining game played on Sunday at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu.
