A section of Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya’s supporters have dared Kiminini Member of Parliament Maurice Kakai Bisau to make real his threat and vie for the gubernatorial seat in 2027.
Bisau had on Saturday, August 16, 2027, dropped a major hint that he would vie against Natembeya in the 2027 General Election.
Responding to the declaration, the governor’s allies, mostly the youth, described Bisau as a nonstarter in politics.
They said his threat should be ignored.
Is Bisau a threat to Natembeya?
According to Amos Boaz, alias Hammer Hammer, a communications officer in the office of the governor, if Bisau will be flying the Kenya Kwanza flag in 2027 Trans Nzoia gubernatorial race, then Natembeya will not waste his time and resources campaigning.
“Bisau is the weakest candidate and by the way if UDA will settle for him as their candidate, then we will ask our governor to go for a vocation in Dubai from April 2027 and come back to pick his election certificate because Bisau is a nonstarter in any political contest here in Trans Nzoia,” Hammer Hammer said.
On his part, Oyaro K Oyaro one of the bloggers in Trans Nzoia said Bisau is least qualified to teach Natembeya a lifetime political lesson.
“In 2013 and 2017, Maurice Bisau was defeated by Khaemba even after getting 100% support from the Kalenjin community and the ruling Jubilee government. The same people who couldn’t make him a governor have promised to make him a governor come 2027. The son of Festo will not learn the lesson soon,” Oyaro said.
Dean Frank, a protocol officer in Trans Nzoia County Government said Bisau made it to the August house courtesy of the immense support he received from Natembeya.
“Bisau you know very well that were it not for Natembeya, you would have lost the Kiminini parliamentary seat the way you lost the governorship race to Patrick Khaemba in 2013 and 2017. If you see him, ask him to deliver what he promised you in 2022,” Frank told a gathering in Nabiswa.
Who can beat Natembeya in 2027 gubernatorial race?
Lovryne Jerop who supported Bisau in 2012 and 2017 said there is no elected Member of Parliament in Trans Nzoia who has the capacity to unseat Natembeya.
“There’s no MP that’s capable of unseating Natembeya,” she said.
Bisau vied for the Trans Nzoia governor seat in 2013 and 2017, but lost in both elections to Patrick Khaemba.
In 2022, he dropped from the gubernatorial race in favour of Natembeya.
