Guard Killed, 55’ TV Stolen as Robbers Break Into Sugoi Girls High School

Police officers in Turbo Sub County have launched a probe into an incident in which robbers broke into Sugoi Girls High School early on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

A police report seen by Uasin Gishu News indicates that an unknown number of robbers broke into the school compound after cutting the perimeter fence.

It was reported by Kennedy Kosgey Kemboi, a security guard at Sugoi Girls High School that today the 21st day of February 2023 at about 0230 hrs, unknown robbers entered the school compound by cutting the perimeter fence,” read part of the report.

Once they accessed the compound, police say, the robbers fatally injured one of the guards before breaking into the school staff room. They cut the staff room’s window grills and ”there in stole one television set make Sunsung 55’ valued at Ksh55,000″.

The robbers broke into the school compound after cutting the perimeter fence.

The guard who was killed has been described as a 55-year-old.

Later, police officers from Turbo Police Station accompanied by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI ) officers and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel from Uasin Gishu County Police headquarters visited the scene.

Police say the scene was processed and documented. The body of the deceased has since been moved to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret town.

The body is expected to be subjected to autopsy as the probe into the incident continues.

Meanwhile, the matter is now being handled by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Turbo.
