Harambee Stars have been drawn in Group D of the PAMOJA 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers alongside South Africa, Guinea and Eritrea.
The draw sets up a competitive group as nations across the continent begin their qualification campaigns for the continental showpiece, which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
Kenya, as one of the co-host nations of the tournament, have already secured automatic qualification for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite the automatic qualification, Harambee Stars will still participate in the qualification campaign alongside the other nations in Group D.
AFCON 2027 qualification campaign
A total of 48 nations will compete in the qualifiers, with 24 teams set to feature at the final tournament.
The official tournament dates for the PAMOJA 2027 Africa Cup of Nations have also been confirmed.
The competition will run from June 19 to July 17, 2027, marking the return of Africa’s biggest football tournament to the East African region.
Harambee Stars Group D opponents in AFCON qualifiers
Among the teams in the group, South Africa are the highest-ranked side at position 60 in the latest FIFA World Rankings, while Guinea are ranked 80th. Kenya are currently ranked 111th, with Eritrea placed 184th.
The group presents a competitive mix of continental experience as the teams prepare for the qualification campaign ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The PAMOJA 2027 tournament will be the first time Kenya hosts the Africa Cup of Nations.
