Mawego National Polytechnic, Sikri Technical Training Institute, Kisiwa Technical and Vocational College, and Kitale National Polytechnic ranked among the top performers at the 2026 Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) National Games, which concluded on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Nyandarua National Polytechnic.
Mawego National Polytechnic led the celebrations after clinching two national titles in women’s disciplines. The institution’s netball team defeated Mbita Technical and Vocational College 30-0 in the final, while the women’s football team edged out Rift Valley National Polytechnic Queens 1-0 to secure the national crown.
In women’s paravolley, Kisiwa Technical and Vocational College claimed the championship after overcoming Sikri in straight sets. Kisiwa dominated the opening set 25-13 before sealing victory in the second set.

Sikri Technical Training Institute, however, had reason to celebrate after its women’s volleyball team defeated Kisiwa in the final to lift the national title.
After the victory, Sikri women’s volleyball captain Luisa Otieno hailed her teammates, coaches, and the institution’s management for their support throughout the tournament.
“We thank our coaches for being with us throughout this journey. Reaching this far is because of their efforts. We also thank our principal for allowing us to participate through his support. We are happy,” she said.
Kitale National Polytechnic wins KATTI 2026 football title
Meanwhile, Kitale National Polytechnic emerged champions in men’s football after defeating Taita Taveta National Polytechnic 1-0 in a closely contested final.
Kitale captain Emanuel Ekisa attributed the victory to teamwork, determination and sacrifice, describing the journey to the national finals as challenging but rewarding.
“The journey has not been easy. We appreciate our support systems, starting with our coaches, Mr Dan Masonic, and our principal, Dr Tom Molati. Thank you so much for this opportunity. We also appreciate our players who have put in a lot of effort to make this achievement possible,” said Ekisa.

Kitale National Polytechnic represented the North Rift Region at the championships, while Taita Taveta National Polytechnic flew the flag for the Coastal Region.
Notably, the men’s football final mirrored last year’s regional showdown, with North Rift and Coastal regions once again producing the two finalists, albeit through different institutions.
During the 2025 KATTI National Games held at the Coast, the Eldoret National Polytechnic represented the North Rift Region, while Kenya Coast National Polytechnic represented the Coastal Region in the men’s football final.
The 2026 KATTI National Games brought together institutions from across the country, showcasing talent, teamwork and the growing competitiveness of Kenya’s technical and vocational education sector.
