Honesty Exemplified: Rehema Anyango’s Inspiring Journey at KMTC

/

Rehema Anyango, a Nursing student at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), exemplifies honesty.

On Sunday, January 14, 2024, during a spiritual moment at the Christian Union (CU) at her Bomet Campus, she turned off her phone to avoid distractions. Upon switching it on after the service, she discovered a surprising M-PESA deposit of Kshs32,000 from an unfamiliar number.

Perplexed by the unexpected windfall, the third-born in a family of six took action. She purchased Kshs10 worth of airtime to call the mysterious sender, only to find that the number was switched off.

Shortly after, Safaricom contacted her, explaining that the money was mistakenly sent to her.

Following their guidance, Anyango, whose studies are sponsored by a well-wisher, agreed to reverse the money.

In an interview, she revealed that her inspiration to return the money stemmed from facing economic challenges after losing her mother in class seven.

I have gone through a lot of economic challenges and could not imagine the pain the owner would have felt if I used the money,” she narrates.

According to Anyango, her training at KMTC has shaped her to embrace honesty, especially in the healthcare field where integrity is paramount, as patients entrust their lives to healthcare professionals.

The KMTC student advises young people, urging them to prioritize honesty as a key factor in their journey to greatness.
