Controversial and prominent Uasin Gishu farmer-cum-politician Jackson Kibor has died.
Kibor who has been ailing for a while now died on Wednesday, March 15, 2022, while receiving treatment at the St Luke’s Trauma and Orthopedic Hospital in Eldoret town.
According to Citizen Digital, the farmer and politician was recently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with failure of both kidneys before doctors confirmed that he had died.
Jackson Kibor retreated from the public limelight since October 2020 when he is said to have contracted COVID-19.
He has been on Oxygen support since then, having to carry an oxygen cylinder on his car whenever he travels outside his house.
The farmer and politician is known by many for controversially filing to divorce his two wives, applications that the court granted him.
He owns expansive agricultural land in several parts of Uasin Gishu and was once involved in fight with his son’s over the property, before later burying their differences.
In social circles, Jackson Kibor was usually referred to as the Men’s Conference chairman, and would be a trending subject during Valentine’s Day.
A number of politicians visited him at his home when sick, among them Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago, Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany and Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Jonathan Bii Chelilim.
Jackson Kibor has died aged over 80 years.
