JOBO Retains Regional Title, Nasokol Crowed New Queens

Reigning Rift Valley football champions St Joseph’s Boys Kitale have retained the regional title.

The Trans Nzoia-based sided secured a back-to-back title on Friday, July 11, 2025, in a tightly congested final played at Hill School grounds.

JOBO needed an injury-time goal from their star player, Instine Simiyu, to break a resilient St Peter’s Kimuron Boys.

The game, was fairly balanced with both sides wasting a few clear-cut chances before Simiyu struck at the death to break the hearts of he Kerio Lions who had hoped to upset the favourites.

Kimuron Boys secured the final after edging out Christ the King (CTK) 1-0 while the Cosmas Nabongolo boys beat Meteitei 4-0 in their semis.

JOBO now heads to Kakamega for the national championships set for next week.

Nasokol Girls win regional title

In the girls category, West Pokot’s Nasokol Girls were crowned the Rift Valley football champions after a dramatic 2-1 win over Itigo Girls.

Itigo who eliminated defending Champions Wiyega Girls in the semi final forced the game into extra time after it ended on a 1-1 draw in regular time.

Nasokol scored their second goal during the tense extra time book a place at the nationals.

It was a hard-earned win having earlier played a rematch with Trinity after the game was abandoned on Thursday. The rematch ended 1-0.

JOBO and Nasokol will now represent Rift Valley region at the nationals in football.
