Saboti Constituency Member of Parliament, Caleb Amisi has condemned attack on St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School soccer team (JOBO) goalkeeper.
The goalkeeper, Delvin Vurachi, was attacked on Thursday, August 21, 2025, during the semi final game at the ongoing Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) competitions in Kakamega.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Amisi said the attack was inhumane and should not be allowed to thrive.
“I strongly condemn the brutal attack on the St. Joseph’s Boys Kitale goalkeeper during the East Africa Champions School Games 2025 semi-final against Musingu,” the MP posted.

Amisi whose constituency hosts the national school urged football fans to embrace peace while also urging relevant authorities to take appropriate action against the perpetrators.
JOBO fans statement after attack on goalkeeper
Meanwhile, the JOBO fraternity expressed its disappointment and concern over the unfortunate events that marred the highly anticipated clash between Musingu High School and St. Joseph’s Boys Kitale.
JOBO said fans invaded the pitch and attacked their goalkeeper.
“During the invasion, our goalkeeper, was violently struck with a stone while preparing to defend a free kick. In the midst of defending himself from the attack, the ball was played into the net under circumstances that were neither safe nor fair.We wish to emphasize that this incident occurred after the lapse of normal time and the additional stoppage time, making the sequence of play highly irregular and questionable,” read a joint statement from the fans

The national boys soccer champion condemned acts of hooliganism and violence arguing that such acts endanger the lives of young sportspeople, distorts fairness of competition, and undermine the values of discipline and unity that school sports are meant to uphold.
“We call upon the FEASSSA Organising Committee to take decisive action, thoroughly investigate the incident, ensure justice and fairness in the outcome of the match, and put in place stricter security and disciplinary measures to prevent a repeat of such shameful scenes,” added JOBO fraternity.
