Uasin Gishu County Woman Member of Parliament Gladys Boss on Thursday successfully hosted a Women’s Empowerment Initiative in Ainabkoi sub county.
She cohosted the event with area MP Samuel Chepkonga.
The event, held at Waunifor Grounds was graced by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet.
In a statement on her social media pages, the legislator who doubles up as the National Assembly Deputy Speaker thanked leaders for their support.
“Together with Ainabkoi Member of Parliament Hon. Samuel Chepkonga, we were privileged to have hosted the Women’s Empowerment Initiative at Waunifor Grounds in Ainabkoi/Olare Ward in Uasin Gishu County,” the county woman MP said.
“Our deepest gratitude extends to our chief guest, Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Masika Wetangula, our esteemed patron Sir. Farouk Kibet, and all distinguished guests for their generous contributions and steadfast support” she added.
The legislator also asked all groups that will benefit from the financial support to use it wisely.
President Ruto’s PA has been spearheading the Women’s Empowerment Initiative across the country.
“May all groups benefiting from this initiative thrive and achieve lasting economic prosperity,” Gladys Boss said.
Other sub-counties where the Women’s Empowerment Initiative have been held include Kapseret, Soy and Turbo.
