Jonathan Bii, Stephen Sang, Wisley Rotich Named Among the 20 Most Transformative Governors

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim, his Nandi counterpart Stephen Sang and Elgeyo Marakwet’s Wisley Rotich have been named among the 20 most transformative governors in 2024.

The three were ranked among the top in the latest survey by Politrack Africa.

In a poll released on Monday, November 25, 2024, Sang, serving his second term, was ranked fifth, while Bii, serving his first term, was 11th.

Rotich serving his first term was 16th.

According to Politrack Africa, the survey results examined governors’ performance in Kenya for 2024.

The study executed through 10th November to 17th November 2024 aimed to analyze the public perception of the performance of their governors across all 47 counties in Kenya,” the pollster said.

Top on the list was Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa with a rating of 76.5 per cent followed by Tharaka Nithi’s Muthomi Njoki (75.1%) and Patrick Ole Ntutu of Narok who had a 73.2 per cent rating at number three.

Wajir’s Ahmed Abdullahi was fourth.

The list of the top 20 most transformative governors also contains five women county bosses.

Homa Bay’s Gladys Wanga was the highest rated at number 6 with a 68.2 per cent rating while Kawira Mwangaza (7th), Wavinya Ndeti (23rd) and Ann Waiguru (15th) were the others.

Susan Kihika of Nakuru was ranked at number 20 with a rating of 52.5 per cent.
