Julius Bitok Meets Uasin Gishu Teachers’ Union Officials Ahead of International Tourism Week

Tourism Principal Secretary (PS) Prof. Julius Bitok has held talks with teachers’ union officials from Uasin Gishu County.

The meeting was meant to discuss preparations for the upcoming International Tourism Week scheduled for September 23 to 27.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page on Thursday, September 2, 2026, Prof. Bitok said the meeting focused on building partnerships to promote tourism and cultural heritage in the county.

The PS said the government is committed to partnerships that promote tourism and youth participation in the sector, noting that teachers have a key role in creating awareness among learners.

Teachers play a vital role in creating awareness, shaping attitudes and nurturing appreciation of our tourism assets among learners,” Bitok said.

He said the Ministry will work with stakeholders to ensure the week-long event showcases the tourism potential of Uasin Gishu County and strengthens the sector’s contribution to the economy.
