Suzy Peacock High School in Kapseret, Uasin Gishu County, is among institutions celebrating good performance following the release of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary School Education (KCSE) examination.
The private school registered an impressive mean of 6.7, up from 4.8 it posted in 2024.
To celebrate the huge improvement, learners and teachers took to the streets of Eldoret city on Friday, January 9, 2025.

School Principal Henry Toet said this was the best performance ever, as over half of the candidates scored a university entry grade.

The top candidate at the Suzy Peacock High School had a grade B+ (plus), with 6 candidates scoring B (plain), while 21 others scored a B- (minus).
35 other candidates had a C+ (plus), bringing the total number of those who scored a university entry grade to 63.
“We are celebrating because these are the results we have not had before. We used to register very low mean grades, but we’re now at 6.7,” Toet said.

He said 55 per cent of the candidates attained a university entry grade.
Annet Mwabishi, a teacher at the school, said a good relationship between them and the learners was the secret behind their academic improvement.
She said they had set a target of 6.5, which they surpassed.
“We (the teachers) are close to the learners and always help them in revision, and that is why we had the good results,” she said.
The school is now hoping for better results this year.
“We are happy that the class of 2025 surpassed their target, and we hope we will also do the same this year,” one of the students said.
The school is also expecting to receive the Grade 10 learners next week under the Competency-Based Education (CBE).

KCSE results were released on Friday, January 9, 2026, by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba at the AIC Chebisaas Boys in Eldoret.
Of the over 993,000 candidates nationally, 1,932 scored straight As, a majority of whom were in the top national schools while 270,000 scored university entry grades.
