KUCCPS Announces over 45,000 Slots for P1 Teachers Willing to Upgrade Their Qualification

Kenyan teachers with P1 or ECDE certificate now have an opportunity to upgrade their qualification.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced opening of their portal to allow the P1 Teachers to update to Diploma.

KUCCPS in a statement on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, said the application for interested teachers should be done through their portal.

The agency noted that teachers eligible for the opportunity are those with P1 or Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) Certificate from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) and have a Teachers Service Commission (TSC) number.

How P1 teachers can apply for diploma course through KUCCPS

To apply, the teacher will be required to log in to KUCCPS application system through the link teachersupgrade.kuccps.ac.ke and select a public Teacher Training College of your choice.

The agency mandated to place students in all institutions of higher learning said 45,886 slots are available for the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education.

The application period runs from 6th to 20th August 2025.
