KUCCPS Slashes TVET Application Fee, Opens Portal for September Intake

Kenyan sudents seeking to join Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) institutions have a reason to smile.

This is after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) slashed application fees.

Initially, application fees through the KUCCPS portal had been set at Ksh 1,500.

However, on Saturday, KUCCPS announced that the fee had been reduced by over half.

Applicants will now only pay Ksh 500.

Exciting News! KUCCPS has slashed TVET placement application fee from Kshs. 1,500 to Kshs. 500!” the Placement Service said in a post on its social media pages.

Meanwhile, it also announced the opening of its portal for the September 2025 intake.

The application dateline has since been set for August 22, 2925.

The online application system is now open for September 2025 intake. Apply from 8th to 22nd August 2025 and enhance your skills for self-reliance,” KUCCPS said.

Application to join TVETs is done exclusively online through the KUCCPS students portal https://students.kuccps.net/

What are requirements to apply for TVET through KUCCPS?

Application to join a TVET institution is open to all holders of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate.

Minimum grades for an applicant to qualify if a C– in KCSE for diploma courses and at least a D for a certificate course application.

Furthermore, students applying for artisan courses, the minimum requirement is an E in KCSE.
