List of Top Supermarkets in Eldoret Town

Eldoret is one of the fastest-growing towns in Kenya today.

A 2019 census ranked it the fifth most populated urban area in Kenya after Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru and Ruiru.

And with the high population comes a high demand for various services among them supermarkets where locals purchase their goods.

The town has several well-known supermarkets as well as little-known ones.

We take a look at the supermarkets that have their footprints in this city of champions;

Naivas Supermarket Eldoret

Naivas now has 75 outlets across the country four of which are in Eldoret town.

It is arguably one of the fastest growing supermarkets in the country today with at least 75 outlets.

Naivas has four outlets in Eldoret – the oldest being the one located opposite the Trocadero bus stage.

Other outlets are near Eldoret’s main market, Zion Mall and the Naivas Elgon View – along Eldoret Kapsabet road opened a few days ago.

Quickmart Supermarket Eldoret

Quickmart is arguably the newest brand of supermarket to set up shop in Eldoret town.

It has only one outlet located at Eldocentre building along the Uganda road.

The supermarket took up the space that was previously used by the troubled Tuskys Supermarket.

Yako Supermarket Eldoret

This is arguably among the oldest supermarkets that have a heavy presence in Eldoret. Yako Supermarket has two branches, all located along Oginga Odinga Street.

The first Yako Supermarket is the oldest but smallest – famous for selling alcohol and its low prices.

And the second outlet – New Yako Supermarket was opened in April 2021. It is bigger and more spacious.

Khetias Supermarket Eldoret

It has two supermarkets in Eldoret town. The first one is located along Ronald Ngala Street within the Eldoret CBD, while the second one is located between Huruma and Maili Nne Estate along the Eldoret-Malaba road.

Transmatt Supermarket Eldoret

This is one of the oldest supermarkets to set up shop in Eldoret.

Its only branch is along Kenyatta Street.

Uzuri Supermarket Eldoret

Uzuri is the newest supermarket in town. It is located along Oginga Odinga Street.

It took up the space that was previously used by Ukwala Supermarket which closed shop in Eldoret.

Tulin Supermarket Eldoret

Tulin is a supermarket owned by world 3,000 metres steeplechase champion Moses Kiptanui.

It has three outlets in Eldoret, one located within the Komora Centre building, the second one next to Jumbo Plaza at Iten Bus stage and the other one – which is smaller located at Komora gardens, opposite ACK St Mathews Cathedral.
