Uasin Gishu County Director of Medical Services Dr. Evans Kiprotich, on Thursday, July 2, 2026, led the reception of a 1,000-litre liquid oxygen tank at Mama Rachel Ruto Maternity Hospital, donated by Clinton Health Care.

The tank, which is equivalent to approximately 120 gaseous oxygen cylinders, is expected to provide a reliable and continuous supply of medical oxygen to support critical patient care.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Dr. Kiprotich described the donation as a major milestone in improving healthcare delivery.

He noted that the installation of the liquid oxygen system will significantly enhance health services by ensuring a constant and adequate supply of high-purity oxygen, reducing the risks associated with oxygen shortages, and ultimately improving patient outcomes across health facilities.

Additionally, he said the primary objective of the project is to reduce maternal and perinatal mortalities while improving the quality of patient care.

He emphasized that uninterrupted access to medical oxygen is essential in saving lives, particularly for mothers, newborns, and critically ill patients.
