Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago on Saturday July 16, 2022, in Plateau, Kaptagat Ward, asked the clergy to continue preaching the gospel of peace and cohesion as the country prepares for a General Election due in just under three weeks.
Speaking at a graduation ceremony at the Reformed Church of East Africa’s RITT Institute where he was the chief guest, Mandago says can help complement government efforts for a better country.
“Whatever the church does, it complements what the government is doing. This is the same case with whatever the government does – it complements what the church does,” Mandago said.

“If the church reach the people, we will enhance efforts to make the country better. Target to go to most difficult areas,” he added.
The governor also encouraged Kenyans to ensure they participate in the August 9 poll.
He noted that it is only through voting that citizens decide how their issues will be addressed.
Mandago also affirmed the need for peace and unity to be maintained, irrespective of political differences.
“Let’s all maintain peace. Violence and chaos never pays,” he said.
A total of 94 students graduated with certificates and diplomas in Christian Childhood Education, Theology and Ecclesiastical studies.

During the event also attended by a host of county government officials and local leaders, the Governor also officially opened the college’s welding and fabrication laboratory.
The college is diversifying its courses to offer technical skills with the ultimate plan of becoming an university.
