Jonathan Bii Restructures Departments As He Advertises For 10 CECM Positions

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim has made several changes to county departments as he seeks to align them with his ‘Nguzo Kumi’ manifesto.

In the changes, the governor has restructured some of the departments, while also maintaining others as they have been operating under the former governor Jackson Mandago’s administration.

The changes are contained in a vacancy notice the county has put out, inviting interested candidates to apply for the 10 County Executive Committee (CECM) positions in his administration.

Some of the restructured departments include ICT, Trade and Industrialization which have been merged with Cooperatives and Enterprise Development into a single docket.

The two have had separate CECMs under Mandago’s administration.

Further, the ICT section has been moved to the department of Youth Affairs, Sports and Innovations – which is also a new department.

During the former governor’s era, the Youth and Sports functions were joined together under the department of Education.

Another change in the departments that Governor Bii has made is the introduction of Technical Training that which will be under the Education sector.

Agribusiness and Climate Change are other new areas that have also been introduced.
