A middle-aged woman in Eldoret town is seeking justice after her two stepsons evicted her.
The woman, Abimael Jepkemoi Ngeny claims the two stepsons have evicted her from a house in Elgon View where she has been staying for the last over 10 years.
In an interview with Uasin Gishu News, Jepkemoi noted that trouble with the stepsons started after her husband fell sick, which led to him losing his memory.
She named the stepsons Hillary Kipkemoi and Geoffrey Kipchirchir.
“I got married to Richard Kimalel Chesimet while aged 22 and together we had two children. However my husband got sick and this is when the stepsons started hiring goons to frustrate my life,” the woman narrated.

“They first cut off water and electricity in my house and later forced me out on September 10, 2022,” she added.
The house is within Elgon View estate on the outskirts of Eldoret town.
According to Jepkemoi, despite reporting the matter to the Langas Police Station numerous times, no action has been taken.
No action taken
She now fears for the life of her two children and herself.
“I am passing through a lot since I was evicted from my home. My properties were taken, and I don’t have anywhere to stay. I reported the matter to Langas police station and up to now nothing has been done,” Jepkemoi tearfully narrated.
“I have been forced out of my matrimonial home, threatened and I am now living a miserable life despite my husband having a lot of properties,” she added, blaming senior police officers at Langas Police Station for reluctance to handle her case.
Human Rights Activist Kimutai Kirui has since taken up the matter, as he seeks to ensure that the woman gets justice.

Kirui claims the Kapseret Sub County Police boss is frustrating the woman from getting what belongs to her.
“She has over four OBs on various days and months but unfortunately, the police at the Langas Police Station led by the OCPD has turned a blind eye to her plight,” said the activist attached to the Eldoret-based Centre Against Torture.
Efforts to get a response from the Kapseret Sub County Police Commander John Odhiambo have so far proven futile.
But when contacted, the Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Ayub Gitonga Ali said a probe into the matter was ongoing.
“What was on my desk was about the woman related to wealth. However now that it has taken a new twist, I want to assure you that the investigation will be done as per the law to ensure justice for the victim,” Ali said.
