Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has won the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket in the just concluded nominations.
Sudi, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto garnered 14, 497 votes to win the UDA ticket ahead of several aspirants among them former Simat/Kapseret Member of County Assembly Pauline Tuwei who had 4,200 votes.
The MP will now be flying the UDA ticket in the constituency and will face off with two independent candidates Frank Murgor and Steven Kewa.
In other constituencies, the official results have not yet been declared although provisional results indicate that the current Turbo MP Janet Sitienei is headed for a win.
Sitienei won the seat in 2017 as an independent candidate after losing to businessman Kevin Okwara in the Jubilee party primaries.
Former Member of Parliament Samuel Chepkonga is poised to win the Ainabkoi MP ticket.
In Kesses Constituency, immediate former Uasin Gishu County Executive Committee Member for Finance and Economic Planning CPA Julius Ruto is ahead in the race.
CPA Ruto was facing among others former Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker Isaack Terer and former area MP James Bett.
The current Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat is expected to win the UDA ticket for Soy MP.
Former Egerton University lecturer Phylis Bartoo is also expected to be announced as a winner of the Moiben MP ticket.
In the hotly contested Uasin Gishu gubernatorial race, it is neck-to-neck between Jonathan Bii Chelilim and Amb. Prof. Julius Bitok.
Jonathan Bii, popularly known as Koti Moja is however ahead of Amb. Bitok, based on provisional results.
Governor Jackson Mandago is also ahead of lawyer Kipchumba Karori in the Uasin Gishu Senate race.
Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Boss Shollei is likely to win the UDA ticket.
Official results are expected to be released within the next few hours by the UDA Returning Officers at the Constituency and County Tallying Centres.
