National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has presided over the presentation of medals and certificates to Members of Parliament, Senators, parliamentary staff, commissioners, judicial officers, senior government officials and retirees who received National Honours from President William Ruto between 2022 and 2025.
The ceremony was held at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
Speaking during the event, Wetang’ula reminded Members of the reforms enjoyed by the 13th Parliament, many of which he noted stem from the Standing Orders drafted by the late Dr Bonaya Godana, Bishop Kimani, the late Henry Obwocha, MP Julius Sunkuli and myself.

He further commended the honourees for their distinguished service to the people of Kenya and congratulated them on the recognition.
“I reminded them that to whom much is given, much is expected,” Wetang’ula said.
He also highlighted seven education Bills that seek to bring significant changes to the education sector and urged Members of both Houses to read and understand the proposed laws so they can make informed decisions when the Bills come before Parliament.
“I sincerely thank President Ruto for recognising dedication and hard work in service to the nation. These honours recognise service to Kenyans and reaffirm our commitment to improving public service for the people,” he said.
