Construction works on the modern Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Nandi County are taking shape.
Works on the project started a few months ago.
On Friday, May 8, 2026, Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya visited the project’s site to inspect the progress.

Photos shared by Nandi Governor Stephen Sang show ongoing foundation works.
The stadium is being constructed by the national government through the Ministry of Defence.
“Together with the Cabinet Secretary for Defence Soipan Tuya, we today inspected the progress of construction works at the ultra-modern Kipchoge Keino Stadium,” Sang said.

Once completed, Kipchoge Keino Stadium will feature a World Athletics-certified tartan track, a modern football pitch, state-of-the-art training facilities, a media centre and expanded seating capacity to meet international standards.
Governor Sang has described the upcoming stadium as “a world-class facility, made possible through the support of the President William Ruto.”
“The project is a transformative investment in sports development, youth empowerment and the continued growth of our county’s proud legacy as the source of champions,” he added.

The county boss also thanked President Ruto for his commitment to transforming sports infrastructure and nurturing talent across the country.
