Patrick Korir Takes the Helm as Interim FKF CEO on His First Day in Office

Patrick Korir has officially begun his tenure as the Interim CEO of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

Arriving at FKF headquarters early on October 9, 2024, Korir was warmly welcomed by FKF staff, marking the start of a new chapter for the federation under his leadership.

Korir, who was appointed to the interim position due to recent changes at FKF, has a rich background in football management and journalism.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Egerton University and over a decade of experience in the football industry, his journey spans multiple capacities, including IT professional, football coordinator, sports journalist, and most recently, CEO of Nairobi City Stars.

As he settled into his new role, Korir immediately met FKF staff to familiarize himself with the ongoing projects at the federation. His first agenda was focused on maintaining operational continuity within the federation.

He also reassured FKF staff of his commitment to fostering teamwork and driving the federation forward amid the upcoming FKF elections and key footballing events, including the U20 AFCON CECAFA Qualifiers, Junior Starlets participation in the upcoming FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, Harambee Stars’ 2025 AFCON Qualifiers and all ongoing domestic leagues.

In a brief statement to the media, Korir expressed his enthusiasm for the new role.

As the interim leader, his immediate focus will be on ensuring FKF’s operations continue seamlessly while laying the groundwork for future initiatives aimed at strengthening football structures in Kenya.

With Patrick Korir at the helm, FKF is poised for a smooth transition during this interim period.
