What started as a tense day ended in jubilations amongst locals within Eldoret town.
The locals keenly followed the Supreme Court proceedings from the mega LCD screen strategically located within the CBD.
By the time the seven judges were taking their seats, hundreds of locals were already glued to the screen, ready to hear what the verdict will be.

At times it was a tense moment as some were afraid of another nullification but the more Chief Justice Martha Koome read out the unanimous judgement the locals started believing that the win was finally ‘coming home’.
Not even the rains could take away the attention of locals on the screen.

And at the end, Dr William Ruto was confirmed the winner – an announcement that was greeted with joy, dance and celebrations by those that were following the proceedings.
Locals who came armed to the teeth, of course with their traditional ‘sinendet’ which they brandished were all smiles as the apex court confirmed that indeed Ruto is Kenya’s fifth President.
