Rachael Ruto, the wife of Deputy President William Ruto will be gracing the upcoming Uasin Gishu County Interdenominational Service.
The service, which will be used for thanksgiving and prayers of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nominees is planned to be held on May 15, 2022.
Uasin Gishu UDA Governor Nominee Jonathan Bii Chelilim alias Koti Moja is the host of the interdenominational service that is expected to be attended by all UDA nominees in the county.

Some of the nominees include Governor Jackson Mandago (Senate seat), Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi, his Turbo counterpart Janet Sitienei Rotich, Prof. Phylis Bartoo (Moiben MP nominee), CPA Julius Ruto (Kesses MP nominee), and Samuel Chepkonga (Ainabkoi).
Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat, a UDA nominee for Soy Constituency, and Woman Representative Gladys Boss Shollei will also be in attendance.
All UDA nominees for the Member of County Assembly (MCA) seats will also attend.
The venue for the service will be at the Central Primary School Grounds, next to Zion Mall in Eldoret town.
The thanksgiving and prayer service is expected to be used by UDA nominees to solidify their support base ahead of the August 9 poll.
This follows a number of aspirants that opted to vie as independent candidates, after failing to clinch the UDA ticket for the respective seats they were vying for.
So far, there is at least an independent candidate vying for Senate, Governor, and Member of Parliament (MP) seats in the county.
Some of them include Kipchumba Karori and Robert Arap Kemei in the Senate race, Terry Maina for Ainabkoi Constituency, Pauline Tuwei in Kapseret, Silas Tiren in Ainabkoi, and Dr. Swarup Mishra who is seeking to defend his Kesses MP seat, among others.
