Reaching Out For Help When You Need It Is an Act of Bravery

Although you may not hear it said often, reaching out for help when you need it is actually an act of bravery.

You may not know for sure if you’ll find help when you do, and you may want to avoid bothering people.

And yet true friendship is built on high and low moments like these.

Not reaching out and suffering in silence is not courage but fear. Fear of appearing defeated or not in control. And yet there are people you helped when they were in need would be delighted to return the favor and be of help to you.

Are you even being a loyal friend if you laughed together with them but you retreated to cry alone? If the friendship is real it will be strengthened and not weakened by you showing your human side and admitting that you too need your friends.

There’s actually a sense of betrayal we feel when we learn a friend was in need and they didn’t let us know so we could help. Don’t be that friend when it’s your turn.

Of course, we’re talking about friends of the inner circle with whom you journey together in life.
