Soy MP David Kiplagat to Finance Installation of Tiles at Kamukunji Primary School Classrooms

Pupils at Kamukunji Primary School in Soy constituency, on the outskirts of Eldoret City, will soon be learning in a tiled classroom.

Area Member of Parliament David Kiplagat, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, presided over an event where he handed over Ksh 9.2 million that will be used for renovating and tiling 19 classrooms at the school.

The MP said the initiative is part of his continued effort to enhance the learning environment in all public schools within his constituency.

Today, I officially handed over a cheque of KSh 9.2 million to Kamukunji Primary School to support the renovation and tiling of 19 classrooms, as well as the fencing of the school and construction of a proper school gate,” Kiplagat said.

This initiative is part of our continued commitment to improving learning environments for our children by ensuring they study in safe, secure, and dignified facilities. Investing in education is investing in the future of our community,” he added.

The legislator also affirmed his commitment to continue building better schools and brighter futures for the learners.

The school is located within an informal settlement in Eldoret.

Are new classrooms being constructed at Kidiwa Primary School?

Later in the day, Kiplagat presided over the site handover at Kidiwa Primary School for the construction of a 14-classroom storey block and a multipurpose hall/dining facility.

The project is being implemented through the State Department of Housing.

This milestone marks a major step toward expanding learning infrastructure and providing a modern, conducive environment for our learners. The additional classrooms and multipurpose facility will go a long way in easing congestion and supporting holistic education,” he said.

He also thanked the State Department of Housing, the school administration, and all stakeholders for their collaboration.

“We remain committed to delivering quality infrastructure and investing in the future of our children,” Kiplagat said.
