National Super League side Soy United Football Club has appointed experienced tactician George Owoko Oduor as its new Head Coach.
Owoko, who holds a CAF B license, has signed a two-year deal with the Uasin Gishu-based club.
The appointment was confirmed on Monday, September 7, 2026.
The club says Owoko was picked for his vast experience in Kenyan football, having worked with Tusker FC, Bandari FC, Nairobi Stima, Vihiga Bullets, MOFA and Shabana FC.
In a statement, Team Leader Ayiro Edwin Chahilu said the coach brings more than just technical knowledge to the team.
“His profile reflects strong competencies in sports psychology, player development, scouting and match analysis,” the club said.
Owoko has previously been part of technical teams that have won the Kenyan Premier League title, GOtv Shield and KECOSO tournament, as well as national school championships.
The club said the long-term contract is part of its strategy to build a stable and competitive squad.
Team Leader Chahilu noted that the two-year deal “provides the technical bench with the time and institutional support required to establish a clear playing identity, develop players and build sustainable success.”
Owoko has now been tasked with turning around the club’s fortunes and mounting a serious promotion push.
The club stated that he has been entrusted with “stabilizing the team, restoring confidence and building a disciplined and competitive side capable of challenging for promotion—one game at a time.”
