Soy United Calls For Fans’ Patience as it Awaits Gucha Stars Appeal Decision

Soy United which is on the brink of promotion to the National Super League (NSL) has urged it’s fans to remain patient as it awaits a decision that will determine it’s fate.

The Soy-based club finished top of the FKF Division One League to earn an automatic promotion to NSL after would-be champions Gucha Stars FC was docked three points for fielding an ineligible player.

Gucha Stars has since appealed the decision and secured a temporary order in their favour from the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT).

But as the tribunal continues to hear the matter, Soy United management has asked it’s fans to remain calm.

In a statement, the club said it hopes the matter is dispensed off as soon as possible.

We urge all parties involved, including our fans and members of the public, to exercise patience and allow the Tribunal to reach its determination without undue pressure or speculation,” the club said.

For the record Soy United Football is not party to the ongoing proceedings and is also keen to have the same dispensed with as we have extended our season by over three weeks and the team has incurred huge expenses as our players remain in camp,” it added.

Will Soy United be promised to NSL?

The tribunal’s decision will determine whether Soy United will get direct promotion.

A ruling in favour of Gucha Stars will delay Soy United’s promotion as they will have to go for a playoff.

Soy United Football Club remains focused on our preparations both on and off the pitch for either a playoff duel or automatic qualification to the National Super League and will continue to conduct ourselves with professionalism and respect for the rule of law,” the club further noted in a statement signed off by Head of Media & Communications Cedrick Siambi.

A ruling against Gucha Stars FC will see Soy United promoted to NSL and Compel, who finished second go a playoff.
