Vetting of students who apply for bursaries in Trans Nzoia County will only be done once, Governor George Natembeya has announced.
Natembeya said after the approval, the beneficiary of the sponsorship will get bursary for the the rest of the period at the institution of learning.
He made the sentiments at St.Anthony’s Boys High School in Kitale during an Annual General Meeting on Friday.

“If a student is vetted this term and it is established that he has no parents, why is it necessary to vet again the following term and yet the records show that the student has no parents?” Natembeya posed.
The county boss further noted that his administration has sponsored all students who scored 250 marks and above in KCPE and were admitted to day schools across the county.
Road to St Anthony’s
Meanwhile, Governor Natembeya directed the department roads to tarmack the dilapidated Hospital-St.Anthony’s road so as to enhance access of the school.
The Governor also ordered Roads and Infrastructure County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Jackson Amboka to erect two high-mast lights at the school to enhance security.

He further promised to sponsor the construction of staff houses and provide cabro blocks for flooring of the school compound.
Kitale Catholic Diocese Bishop Juma Odonya on his part asked parents to take care of their children with high standard of discipline.
“As parents, you should be very close to your children.supervise and guide them properly to enhance discipline,” said Bishop Odonya.
School’s Principal Simon Masibo praised parents for paying fees on time and asked other stakeholders to intervene in sponsoring most of the projects that the school wants to initiate.
St Anthony’s Boys is one of the National Schools in Trans Nzoia County and among the best performers in national examination.
