Uasin Gishu County Equips Dispensaries in Cheptiret/kipchamo Ward

Access to healthcare within Cheptiret/Kipchamo ward has received a major boost.

This is after the County Government of Uasin Gishu on Thursday, November 7, 2024, launched the distribution of essential medical equipments to Koitebes, Cheptiret and Kaptumo Dispensaries in the ward located in Kesses Sub County.

The move seeks to strengthen healthcare services in the County as envisioned in Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim’s second pillar on his Nguzo Kumi development blueprint.

Speaking during the flagging off, Health Services County Executive Dr. Abraham Serem said the equipment distribution aligns seamlessly with a pledge on healthcare improvements.

As envisioned in the second pillar, Governor Dr. Bii aims to ensure all facilities are equipped with the necessary tools to enhance diagnostics and service delivery,” said Dr. Serem.

Dr Serem further noted that these equipments are in an effort to ensure that health services are delivered correctly to the residents, therefore ensuring that they receive the best services ever.

He further stated that the health care service providers have been trained on Social Health Authority and will roll out the exercise to the community level to ensure everyone registers adding that they have enough staff and have delivered enough drugs as required.

The governor has made sure that health services are dispensed off to the public seamlessly from delivery of drugs to equipments to ensuring that the infrastructure is upgraded,” said Dr Serem.

In addition, Clinical Services Chief Officer Dr Joyce Sang noted that they are getting more equipments to ensure that all the level two and three facilities enhance the best patient safety and reduce child mortality and maternal at the facilities.

Director of Health Services Dr Evans Kiprotich further noted that their mandate is to ensure they offer quality services to the residents and the distribution of equipments is a drive in the implementation of primary health care.

Among the equipments include; Glucometer, centrifuge, microscope, head lamp, height board, sterilisation drums, emergency tray, chairs, baby weighing scale, stethoscope and digital blood pressure machine.
