Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has committed to allocating funds to help youth from vulnerable families to benefit from the foreign education programs.
This is even as most families have to organize harambees to raise monies for education abroad.
But this is about to change with Mandago already planning to set aside funds that may bring an end to fundraisers for education.

Speaking in Tembelio, Moiben Sub County during a development tour, the county boss said his administration and the County Assembly will set aside monies from the County ward fund to the Education Revolving Fund so as to help youth who will not otherwise manage to raise fees for abroad studies.
Currently, the county in partnership with friends and partners is implementing an initiative where youths travel to Finland to study medical-related courses – among them nursing.
There have also been rising cases of youth seeking to travel to Canada and Australia to study programs being spearheaded by the County Government of Uasin Gishu.

Governor Mandago while on the development tour in Tembelio Moiben Sub County further revealed that the County is planning to cushion farmers by providing acaricides for them.

He said this move is to revive cattle dips following economic stress that affected livestock farmers and Kenyans in general.
Mandago, who is eyeing the Senate seat, also said his administration will ensure all funds meant for projects are prudently used.
The governor is currently serving his second and last term.
He is seeking to fly the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket for the Senate seat in Uasin Gishu.
