Uasin Gishu UDA Nominees to Hold Thanksgiving Rally In Eldoret

Candidates who won the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) tickets in the recently concluded nominations from Uasin Gishu County are planning for a thanksgiving rally and prayer service.

The candidates for all the elective positions on Monday, April 2, 2022, held their first meeting as they started planning for the event expected to be held in Eldoret town.

According to the Uasin Gishu Governor UDA nominee Jonathan Bii Chelilim alias Koti Moja, the prayer service and thanksgiving rally have been scheduled for Sunday, April 15, 2022.

We met this afternoon with fellow UDA nominees and held extensive deliberations in the build-up to an upcoming Uasin Gishu County Prayer Service and thanksgiving rally slated for Sunday the 15th of May 2022,” Bii said in a post on his official Facebook page.

Among the UDA nominees that attended the meeting included Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago who won the nomination for the Senate seat, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, CPA Julius Ruto (MP nominee Kesses), Prof. Phylis Bartoo (nominee Moiben), and Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat who is the Soy MP nominee.

Several MCA nominees were also present in the meeting attended by UDA Uasin Gishu Coordinator Paul Kiprop and County Patron Joseph Wainaina.

Speaking after the meeting, Bii expressed the need for all other aspirants that lost in the nomination to join hands with them – so that they form a united team ahead of the August 9 poll.

Our desire as a party and as the UDA team is to have each one of our people on board as we seek to define the political future in order to foresee a much-needed economic transformation for the good of our people,” said Koti Moja.

A number of aspirants have since opted to vie as independent candidates in Uasin Gishu after failing to win the UDA ticket.

They include two for the Senate seat – Robert Kemei and Kipchumba Karori as well as Terry Maina for has opted to go independent after losing the Ainabkoi MP Seat nomination to former MP Samuel Chepkonga.

Former Simat/Kapseret MCA Pauline Tuwei will also be vying for the Kapseret MP seat as an independent candidate.

Tuwei lost to Sudi in the nomination.
