The Ministry of Health has dismissed a document that has been going around the social media platforms indicating that the government has revised Covid-19 restrictions.
A document first shared on Twitter dated March 1, 2022, had indicated that the government, had among others, lifted the requirement to wear face masks, and allowed the full return of all sporting activities.
The document has since been widely shared across various platforms.
But responding to the contents of the document, the Ministry of Health said no such orders have been issued.
It noted that the document was not authentic, and that, should any changes be agreed upon from the current measures which are still in place, members of the public will be informed.
“It has come to our attention that there is a document circulating in the media purporting to come up with revised restriction measures on Covid-19. The document is not from the Ministry of Health and is therefore not authentic,” read a tweet on the Ministry of Health official Twitter handle.
“If and when the Government revises the restrictions, we shall make it public in the usual manner,” the Ministry added.
Wearing face masks has been one of the key measures that the government imposed in an attempt to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
But with a drop in the positivity rate, and more people vaccinated, there have been calls from health experts and Kenyans for the measures to be revised.
