Sitati urged all residents to be cautious especially now that there is heavy rains that have increased the river flow.

He also asked the community to discourage children and young adults from playing in places with floodwater and trenches with overflowing water to avoid such incidences recurring during heavy rainfall seasons.
The body was retrieved by the County fire department crew and handed over to Turbo police officers who later took it to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.
Opening waterways
Meanwhile, the County Department of Roads, Transport and Public Works continued with the improvement exercise of opening waterways and drainage lines in areas that experienced significant impacts and damages caused by floodwater as a result of heavy rainfall.
The disruption was experienced in Moi’s Bridge, Kimumu, Kuinet Kapsuswa, Kapsaos, and Tembelio wards posing a threat to the health, transport and agriculture sectors.
