Butterfly Network Donates Portable Ultrasound Equipment to Moi University

Moi University’s College of Health Sciences has received a generous donation of Butterfly iQ+ Portable Ultrasound equipment from Butterfly Network Inc., a global leader in portable medical imaging technology.

The donation included Butterfly iQ+ ultrasound devices, soft protective carrying cases, iPad tablets to serve as screen monitors, and screen protectors.

According to Moi University management, the cutting-edge equipment will be used exclusively for teaching and training purposes, providing students with hands-on experience in performing ultrasound procedures.

It is intended to enhance learning across the College’s four Schools (Medicine, Public Health, Dentistry and Nursing & Midwifery),” the institution said in a statement on Thursday, July 21, 2025.

Moi University extends its heartfelt appreciation to Butterfly Network Inc., with special thanks to Heather Harmon and Sachita Shah for facilitating this donation through their representative, Mr. Edward Mwangi,” it added.

In addition, the university said the meaningful contribution underscores the their commitment to advancing health sciences education through innovation and international collaboration.
