As Jonathan Bii Chelilim alias Koti Moja settles in to start his work as the new Uasin Gishu Governor, his competitor in the just concluded elections has offered him a piece of advise.
Koti Moja faced three candidates in the Gubernatorial race, his main one being entrepreneur Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop (Buzeki).
Buzeki conceded defeat and wished the winner best of luck.
And hours into his reign as the second governor of Uasin Gishu, the billionaire businessman is asking Koti Moja to act swiftly in starting to deliver his pledges, especially to farmers.

Farming is the backbone of Uasin Gishu’s economy and played a key part of politicians manifesto.
“One of the key issue that most of our leaders committed to do was to support farmers on acessing quality and affordable fertiliser,” Buzeki said in a post on his Facebook page.
He points out that the country does not manufacture local fertiliser.
Negotiate with producers
However, to enable farmers get the product at a cheaper price, Buzeki says the county must negotiate directly with producers in Russia, Hungary or China and strike a deal.

“In playing our civic duty, and as a logistical expert let me offer my advise,” Buzeki said
“Considering the timelines up to the next planting season, that process has to begin now, otherwise our dear farmers will struggle again next year,” added the billionaire businessman who also runs a transport and logistical company Buzeki Logistics.
Settle down
But even as he offers the advise, Buzeki is also encouraging the new county boss to settle down immediately and focus on locals’ pressing issues.

Koti Moja and his deputy Eng. John Barorot were sworn in on August 25, 2022, alongside 44 other governors elected in the August 9 poll.
And Buzeki who ran as an independent candidate congratulated him and pledged to offer support to the new administration.
“We will support them through advisory, private sector action and encouragement,” he said.
