Uasin Gishu gubernatorial candidate Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop alias Buzeki has officially started his campaigns.
The billionaire businessman has been doing most of his public engagement via various online platforms, but with under three months to the August polls, he has now taken the campaign to the mwananchi.
He started off earlier this week by hosting locals from his rural village, and for the last few days, he has foused on a meet-the-people-tour in Ainabkoi Sub County, his home constituency.
“Today I began my public consultation from my neigbourhood in Ainabkoi. I am encouraged by optimism and the faith displayed of a brighter future driven by ideologies,” Buzeki said in a post on his verified Facebook page.
And as he starts his second attempt to sit on the county’s highest political seat, the entrepenuer-turned-politician pledged that he will not let down the Uasin Gishu locals.
“Our eyes and mind are firmly on service delivery,” he said
A few days ago, Buzeki signaled that his campaiings are near when he unveiled multiple branded cars – ready to hit the ground running.
He would later host a prayer service for his bid, and the vehicles he will use.
Aside from hosting locals at his home, Buzeki has so far held public engagement forums in Chepng’oror, Tingwa, Kipkaren/Ng’arua, Rurigi, Chemusian, Waunifor and Karungu – all wthin Ainabkoi Sub County.
Buzeki is remembered for unleashing a well-oiled campaign, and almost managed to beat Governor Jackson Mandago whom he lost to twice – first during the Jubilee party primaries, and later in the general election – narrowly losing on both occasions.
Uasin Gishu is yet to witness his campaign machinery that he deployed in 2017, and it is just a matter of time before locals do, as the official campaign period will start in June.
The billionare businessman is vying for the seat as an independent candidate.
He will be facing UDA nominee Jonathan Bii Chelilim alias Koti Moja.
