Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop alias Buzeki has pledged to improve water services in the county should he be elected governor in August.
Speaking in Baharini, Kapkeno, and Kimuruk areas within Olare ward, where he took his campaigns for the governor bid, Buzeki faulted a section of politicians for not fulfilling their promises to the electorate.
“Provision of water is one promise that our leaders never fulfill. This is one issue that has always been used here in Uasin Gishu as a campaign tool,” he said.
The billionaire businessman said that if elected Uasin Gishu’s second governor, he would install a giant pipe from Timboroa, through Naiberi to Eldoret town, supplying clean water to all the residents.
“I want to transform the lives of Uasin Gishu residents. I want Uasin Gishu to be a model county for other devolved units. This county should reflect true servant leadership,” Buzeki noted.
He also took issue with some counties over incomplete projects.
“Most counties launch projects but rarely complete them; I better implement a single project in a year and complete it. I can assure you that during the 2022/2023 financial year, I will allocate KSh1 billion to the water project and make sure that it is up and running in less than one year, and I will be fully in charge,” he assured.
Buzeki who is vying for the gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate indicated that he would never leave an incomplete project during his tenure.
“Some people end up pocketing funds meant for public projects since they don’t have the interests of Kenyans at heart. I want to implement this water project once I get into office in August,” said the billionaire businessman who unsuccessfully vied for the Uasin Gishu Governor seat in 2017.
In the August 9 poll, Buzeki will be vying against two other candidates – UDA’s Jonathan Bii Chelilim alias Koti Moja and William Kirwa of the United Democratic Movement (UDM).
