Cherargei ‘Roasted’ For Saying Fuel Prices Have ‘Dropped Significantly’

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has been on the receiving end from Kenyans on Twitter following his comment in regard to the latest drop in fuel prices.

The Energy and Petroleum Authority (EPRA) on Friday night announced a Ksh1 and Ksh2 drop in petrol and diesel prices respectively.

Responding to the drop, Cherargei termed it significant.

The prices of petroleum products has dropped significantly which points a clear trend of a stabilising economy. This will further make the cost of living affordable and a prosperous country. Blessed night,” the vocal Senator said in a post on his verified Twitter handle.

It is the ‘significant’ comment that has angered KoT, given the drop was only Ksh1.

However, Cherargei defended the comment saying, “Looking at it cumulatively in terms of buying bulky amount.”

But Kenyans are hearing none of it, hitting out at the Senator, who is a close ally of President William Ruto.

Does the SENATOR UNDERSTAND what the word significant mean? To live in a FOOL’S paradise is to indulge in a FOOL’S ERRAND!,” said one of the Twitter users.

Seems lately Senator Cherargei @scherargei is the new government Attorney and cheerleader. While I congratulate him for his new role,it is important he notes that 1 shilling is nothing to be praising government recklessly,Ruto has seen him,he can now keep quiet,” added another user identified as Migosi.

Another KoT said: “Samson Cherargei should know that fuel dropped by 1sh not 1 dollar.”
