Uasin Gishu County officials on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, inspected the ongoing construction works of the Kipsomba ward office.
Works on the office are expected to be completed by March 2023.
County officials who inspected the project were led by Roads, Transport and Public Works County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Eng. Gideon Birir, Roads Acting Chief Officer Julius Ronoh, and Kipsomba ward administrator Simon Kogo.

The inspection came several days after part of the project was damaged by a heavy downpour that was witnessed in the area.
And the team witnessed the damage caused by the recent heavy downpour that caused the weakening of the compacted soil and thus, collapsing one side of the wall.
But during the inspection, the contractor assured the officials that he will re-work it in the next seven days and divert the water to avert the destruction of the project.

Construction of Tarus – Murgusi Bridge in Turbo Sub-County
Meanwhile, the construction of the Tarus-Murgusi Bridge located at the borders of Ng’enyilel and Tapsagoi wards in Turbo Sub County is on course.
This is despite the heavy rains pounding the area which have hindered the speedy implementation of the project.
Engineers from the department of Roads, Transport and Public works together with the contractor while on an inspection exercise assured the residents that the bridge which is currently at 95 per cent into completion will be finalized immediately after the rains subside.

Beyond solving the challenges of road connectivity and network, the bridge will aid the residents who are majorly farmers in accessing markets for their farm produce and products and promoting agricultural activities.
