CS Julius Ogamba Pledges Inclusion of Top Technical Colleges’ Sports Persons Into National Teams

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has promised inclusion of top technical colleges sports personnel into the national team

Ogamba said his ministry is keen on professional excellence of sports men and woman who are in the education sector.

The CS was speaking on Saturday, October 1, 2025, at the Kenya Coastal National Polytechnic in Mombasa County during the closing ceremony of the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutes (KATTI) season two ball games.

We’re going to ensure some of you get to the national teams and represent the nation in international events,” Ogamba said.

He also said his ministry will consider adding more sports equipment to technical institutions to improve sporting standards.

I’ve been here with your principals and we have resolved we are going to add more jerseys and balls to your team’s before the next competitions,” the CS said while commissioning the soccer men final match.

The KATTI season two ball games has soccer, volleyball, handball and Paralympics sitting volleyball.

Eldoret National Polytechnic won four major trophies, among them women’s and men sitting volleyball.

All teams from the Eldoret-based national polytechnic which were representing the Rift Valley region reached at least the quarter finals stage.
