A number of prominent individuals in the North Rift region have been shortlisted for the Principal Secretary (PS) positions.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) on Friday published the names of 477 individuals that had been shortlisted for the PS positions.
Among those listed include Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Wilson Aruasa.
Dr Aruasa has served as MTRH boss for the last over 7 years, and his term is expected to come to an end later in 2023.
It is only recently that the Kenya National Union of Nurses said the MTRH boss was qualified to be the Health PS.
Aside from Dr Aruasa, also shortlisted for the PS position include the Rift Valley Textile Company (RIVATEX) Managing Director Prof. Thomas Kipkurgat and Uasin Gishu gubernatorial candidate in the recently concluded general election Veska Kangongo.
Further, the 2017 Uasin Gishu gubernatorial candidate Dr Edward Serem and former Moiben MP Aspirant Jude Chesire also made the cut to be shortlisted.
Also shortlisted is the former Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) Principal Edwin Tarno.
PS interviews
About 40 individuals from Uasin Gishu, Nandi and Elgeyo Marakwet Counties have been shortlisted.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) will be conducting interviews with the shortlisted candidates from October 12, 2022.
Once interviews are done, names of successful candidates will be forwarded to President William Ruto for an appointment.
