After years of delays, construction works for the ultra-modern Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret are finally set to begin.
The government announced the project over eight years ago but works had delayed due to financial challenges and row over ownership of the land proposed to host the new facility.
Reports indicate that construction works are set to begin, starting November 2025.
According to Soy Member of Parliament David Kiplagat, the contractor is already on site ahead of the official launch.
“Finally the construction of the ultra modern New Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital is set to commence from next month,” Kiplagat said in a post on his verified Facebook page.
“The contractor is already onsite in preparation for the official launch,” he added.

In addition, the MP said a contractor for construction of the student village has also taken over the site in the same place and will commence works soon.
